One Month Probation for Voting against DPJ Party Line

Today (April 4), Yoshitake Kimata, the lone DPJ Upper House member who ignored an official party decision and voted (unsuccessfully) to install Toshirō Mutō to BOJ Governor, had his party membership suspended for one month. Does that mean that he doesn’t have to pay his party dues this month?

Deputy party leader Yukio “Where’s Ichirō” Hatoyama told reporters, “We punished him severely because these are important times, when party members must act as one.”

So much for “important times.”
